Put your hands in the holes of my sweater

Winter is sweater weather! Snow is a mood killer (this year is the first time I've driven in the snow) until I discovered how minimalist it makes everything looks in a picture and .. reality. Today was a little warmer and I didn't have to wear two long sleeves! I told myself I need to blog this month since I've been neglecting it. Getting up for work in the morning is tiring, and when I'm done for the day the sun is already gone. I like natural light, which is why I haven't been taking pictures of my outfits. I told my little sister to snap a few shots today. I'm wearing a Forever 21 sweater (if you look closely, you'll spot gold), H&M cotton leggings, and North Face boots (super comfy).

If it's snowing where you are, stay warm! And if you're from the land of no snow .. lucky you.

Fall Gaze

Wow! It's been a really, really long time since I've blogged! I lost my wireless remote (Gawd knows where it is now) and have been searching for it for a frustrating amount of time. I eventually gave up on searching for it.

I love my new mustard hat (it's not really a beanie because it has this cute pom on the top which I like to call 'puppy' because it's so soft and cuddly) and my new Hmong scarf that I found on ebay for under $5. I bought six scarves and absolutely LOVE them. I may order a bulk more so I can give them as gifts to friends and family.

Moving Elements

I wore this to the Advertising Federation of Minnesota Mentorship event yesterday. It was my first networking event in the industry, and surprisingly it wasn't intimidating! I received great advice and the mentors were helpful and had meaningful insight. I am looking forward to future opportunities and events!

Broken Sunnies

Just right before the rain and storms. Soon these flowers will wilt and crumble. I regret not paying attention to flowers while they were in their prime.

Sippin' Ramen in Casualty

I had the opportunity to eat ramen designed, prepped, and cooked by famous chefs at Zen Box's Ramen Attack event!

Transformers in Disguise

Hung out on campus with a couple bus buddies from STLF sippin' on bubble tea. Then I picked up a check and finally went home with my AP Buddy. Reading, "The Defining Decade."

Interviews are more fun when you put on something other than black, white, and gray.

Artificial Healing

elephantmaze.tumblr.com

This is my latest piece. I wrote it near 4 a.m. in the morning and completed it today after 5 p.m. I was never a poet or nor I try to write poems. Lang Leav has inspired me to do poetry over the last few days. I thought to myself, I will write a poem a day, if not, a passage a day. I think I like spoken word more than poetry itself. The way a spoken word artist visually carries himself/herself with a message, and it's the voice he/she uses that always make me go, "Wow." Breathless, captivating. My best friend in high school was the best at spoken word. She recited Atmosphere precisely. Five or six years ago I wanted to try spoken word out, but my voice has no melody or confidence nor does my head memorize my writing. So I gave that up. A few years ago after a break-up, I found myself writing again but I couldn't really share it with anyone. The writing journey helped me heal tremendously. Right now I'm journaling on paper again, something I haven't done in a long time. I had written a book titled, "Glass Droplets" when I studied abroad in South Korea. It's not a published book, but it's something I produced that massed over 80 pages word doc. Quite an accomplishment, trust me, I did not want to sit in class bored.

I think I'm able to share these daily verses in my head with you. You don't have to understand it. As long as I do.

PUMA Duffel Bag

PUMA Running Shoes

One of my crazy online shopper friends recently introduced me to 6pm. I'm not a huge fan of brands but PUMA is the only brand I go crazy for. I still consider ordering or trying on boys' size medium clothing IF ONLY they're PUMA. I am obsessing over the purple archetype duffel 22" bag and the yellow Shintai Runner Win's shoes on 6pm.

Throwback Thursday: Denmark and Senior Year

Denmark Zoo - July 2012

My senior year duplex room to myself - August 2012

I've been caught up with my birthday and the Korean drama, Master's Sun, in the past week. I am applying to jobs again in the Twin Cities hoping to make it back to Austin someday, hopefully at The Think Tank. I haven't been keeping a regular workout routine or sleeping pattern due to my anxiety. It gets terrible during mid-afternoon and early mornings. I am starting to write personal notes, which have turned into poetry. Oddly enough, I have recently discovered Lang Leav and am inspired by her. Her published "Love & Misadventures" might just be my next purchase.

Birthday Dress

Unfortunately, this look I posted on Lookbook.nu was flagged for deletion. My knees are just under this dress - it's hard to see. Oh well. Re-post.

This weekend was filled with celebration, which is why I did not blog

JAWS on your back

http://pgfancy.bigcartel.com/product/grxjy520005-blue-shark-backpack

I'm obsessed with this blue shark backpack! I actually saw someone on campus with the same backpack in color black. I don't think it's childish to wear though I must admit, it would make any kid look too cool.

This is not an exit

snapback - RVCA, shirt - Forever 21 Men's, shorts - Old Navy,
high-knee socks - Urban Outfitters, shoes - NIKE, ring - gift from a friend

I own seven snapbacks but don't wear them often. I've grown to wear them proudly because they're comfortable and have unique design. I got up a little earlier than usual today although it took me about three hours to fall asleep. I start to feel anxious as I'm trying to sleep and it's been a problem for the past month. I've been keeping busy and trying to find things to do outside the house. My mom and I walked at the park/lake nearby our house for an hour and afterwards we went to the flea market. It rained for a good thirty minutes outside. Mom and I picked up fresh fruits and vegetables. I ordered fresh Thai papaya salad from my favorite food booth. A new employee from Laos made it and it was absolutely delicious although I wish the taste was more refreshing!

Kitty cat love

Kitty cat love
Kitty cat love

It's crazy how temperature can jump from 70 degrees to 90 degrees in a few hours during the day! I walked over to the dog park this morning and it was windy and humid outside. As soon as I got home I changed into my active wear. I haven't done blogilates in a week and will be doing it tonight before I shower and sleep.

In a week I'll be turning 24 years old. I'm bummed that my life for the next year, two, or three was supposed to be in Austin, Texas. I didn't think about celebrating my birthday or future in Minnesota for a while .. so it's difficult for me to re-plan my life again just because it's not easy to accept. I had many plans for Austin that would piece my future together .. now it's just fallen apart and I'm picking myself back up. What is most disappointing is leaving the job I had wanted for a long time. If given the opportunity to move to Austin for an art director or creative position, I would take it. Things change and so do people, and I've moved on but it hurts me everyday.

Eye of the Tiger / You're Gonna Hear Me ROAR

Highlight: TIger print shirt

Starting tomorrow is recruitment week for Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. We sport our official colors (red, black, and silver) and our Greek letters for the week. Too bad I won't be joining them in person because I'm an alum now and have things to do. Our mascot is the bengal tiger, which is why I love this sheer top so much. I've been on the lookout for unique print patterns and came across many but being petite, I'm selective. I don't wear my red blazer often because it easily stains my clothes. I only wear it when it's paired with a black top or dress.

Exciting news: I finally received my wireless remote in the mail!

Global Perspectives

Found by Fab

Who spent their childhood tracing the globe in hopes to travel the world someday? This world isn't flat as early discoveries claimed it to be. This green globe is a fun way to locate continents, countries, cities, oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, etc. A fun way to mark the places you've visited or lived is placing a tack on the location(s). There is never more than enough to explore and learn!

Hot Mess Hair Day

How many of you get heat stress? I do. I tousle my hair and don't care for make-up. I hide in my activewear or I go for a boho look. If you're not a fan of animal cruelty or if you're a vegetarian, I recommend you stop reading this post right now. This morning I helped my parents butcher and pluck chicken. When I was little, it never bothered me because it was my family's lifestyle. But when I started high school and college, I didn't want to do it anymore. A lot of people may think it's hill billy or a hick .. or disgusting, but .. think about the process of ending a chicken's life next time you eat chicken. It's tougher work cleaning your poultry than cooking and eating it.

Put your stuff in the trunk

There's nothing more impressive than a bold and solid storage trunk placed in your home. I could replace the shoeboxes where I put just about EVERYTHING with this. This red metal storage suitcase by Fab is the perfect accent to a room. What a modern treasure chest. It is also available in orange, neon green, and hot pink.

Lazy Blue

shirt - Marshalls, shorts - Old Navy, shoes - Urban Outfitters, bag - Forever 21, bracelet - Love Culture, sunglasses - Forever 21, earrings - Claire's

I planned to post my outfits around my birthday when I receive my wireless remote, but decided to make a post today. I'm naturally awkward in photos .. quirky. Thanks for taking my pictures, BFF You-A.

Summer Platter

This summery 11" picnic plate for $11 by Melamine Ziggy should be living my kitchen cabinet. A dollar an inch. I don't even care if there isn't food on it .. the colors already make it fulfilling. Sadly, it is out of stock on French Bull.

I came across this editorial for Jacksonville Magazine by Agnes Lopez. The outfit composition doesn't strike me as the other photos, but I adore the bright blue background. I am obsessed with the typography, COLOR POP. The color wheel .. and a burst of pop right in the center of the word itself. This COLOR POP is brilliant.

Throwback Thursday: Moonshine Jungle Gem

Bruno Mars Concert July 2013
blouse: Urban Outfitters, romper: Forever 21, floral sleeve: American Eagle, shoes: Cupid, bracelet: ? (sister's), purse: DSW, lipstick: Revlon
On Thursdays I'll feature Throwback Thursday outfits.

Honestly, I cannot remember the last time I split my hair down the middle .. it was back in the very late 90s to early 2000s. I wanted a spontaneous hairstyle considering this was my first time attending a big concert. Bruno Mars seemed really happy that night so I must have done it right. ;) To end on a bright note, I'm so short I can fit in a square.
